Honor Magic V5 launch with thinner body, bigger battery, upgrades

Honor has finally unveiled its Honor Magic V5 model, which is thinner than its predecessor. However, the thin body of the device is not its only highlight.

The new book-style foldable is now official. It houses a huge 6100mAh battery, which is a huge increase from the 5150mAh battery of the Honor Magic V3. Surprisingly, the new Magic V series model is thinner and lighter. To compare, the earlier model measures 9.2mm when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded, while the V5 is only 8.8mm and 4.1mm thick when folded and unfolded, respectively. In terms of weight, from 226g, the new Honor smartphone is now only 217g to 222g (depending on the design and variant).

As reported earlier, the foldable also boasts new upgrades over its predecessor, including IP58 and IP59 ratings (vs. IPX8) and the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). It also supports the Yoyo AI Agent, which allows users to give commands for various tasks, such as PPT creation, coding, searching, file sharing, taxi booking, live camera access, screen sharing, and more.

The Honor Magic V5 is now available for pre-orders in China, while its global variant is said to be coming “later this year.” This could include Europe, India, and more. Here are more details about the phone:
