Nothing replaces Glyph LEDs with ‘Glyph Matrix’ in Phone (3)

Nothing shared that the Nothing Phone (3) will use its new “Glyph Matrix” instead of its iconic Glyph LEDs feature.

Weeks ago, the London-based company revealed that it removed the LED design on the back of its upcoming flagship model. It generated quite a buzz among fans since the feature is a staple part of Nothing smartphones. Yet, speculations claimed that it could be replaced by a dot-matrix design. Now, the company has finally confirmed the matter.

In its latest post, the brand confirmed the feature’s name and teased how it works. It is positioned at the top-right portion of the back panel and uses dots to generate images. This makes it more versatile than the usual LEDs in the earlier Nothing Phones.

The design of the Nothing Phone (3) also leaked a week ago. However, with today’s revelation, the credibility of the image has somehow decreased. That is due to the position of the Glyph Matrix, which seems to obstruct the camera island in the leaked render.

In earlier reports, CEO Carl Pei shared that the upcoming model will be priced “around £800” (around $1063) and has “premium materials” and “major performance upgrades.” A leak recently revealed that the Nothing Phone (3) would be available in black and white colorways. It reportedly has a base configuration of 12GB/256GB and a top configuration of 16GB/512GB, which are priced at $799 and $899, respectively. This week, the company also confirmed that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip would power it and will get seven years of software support.
